Using a ruler to measure, fold the ribbon at the 4 1/2 inch mark. Continue folding the ribbon onto itself until no excess ribbon remains, approximately three times.
-
2
Arrange the ends of the folded up ribbon so they are side-by-side on top of the folded up ribbon.

3
Pinch the ribbon together in the middle. Wrap wire around the middle and twist together in the back of the ribbon to hold it together. Clip off any excess wire.
-
4
Arrange the bow until it is just how you like it.

Wrap a small piece of ribbon around the center of the bow to conceal the wire. Tie the ribbon in the back. Place a dab of hot glue on the back to seal the two pieces of ribbon together, and allow to dry.

Tips & Warnings
Cut the ends of the ribbon into a 'V' shape for an aesthetically pleasing look. To prevent fraying, seal the ribbon by exposing the edges to a heat source, like the open flame of a cigarette lighter. Silk ribbon looks nice, but can be difficult to work with. Many bows are made out of grosgrain fabric.
