How to Fix Firefox From Redirecting to Different Websites

One of the scripts often encountered on webpages is automatic redirecting to another page or site. While this is often innocent in nature, some webpages use this to direct you to harmful or offensive websites that you didn't want to go to. The Firefox web browser has a feature that can fix this problem. When the feature is enabled, redirecting will no longer occur without your consent.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Firefox and click on the "Tools" tab.

    • 2

Select "Options" and open the "Advanced" tab.

    • 3

Click on the "General" sub-tab and then tick the "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" check box.

    • 4

Click on the "OK" button to save your settings. Firefox will now notify you every time a page tries to redirect you to another page instead of automatically sending you to it. When this occurs, follow the prompts Firefox gives you to prevent or allow the redirection.
