How to Make a Shortcut Smaller
Icons on the Windows desktop - also known as shortcuts - allow you to easily open applications and files with a double-click. This saves you the trouble of having to manually locate the program folder to open an application. You can also adjust whether or not you want the shortcut to appear on your desktop. If you want to make your shortcut smaller, you can accomplish this through the desktop menu.

Navigate to the Windows desktop and deselect everything. Make sure no icons are highlighted.

Right-click an empty area of the desktop. Hover your cursor over the option that says "View." This will open another menu.

Click "Small Icons" from the menu. Your shortcuts will now appear in a smaller size.
