How to Make Scarf Hoodies
A scarf hoodie may also be known as a hooded scarf; it is essentially a scarf with a hood sewn to it. The garment provides you with a stylish way to keep warm and, as the scarf can wrapped twice around your neck, it also stays securely on your head in a way that a hat would not. Make your own scarf hoodie from warm polar fleece, which does not require hemming.

1
Cut a rectangle of polar fleece 10 inches wide and 5 feet long. If necessary, you can piece this rectangle together from smaller rectangles. This part is the scarf.
-
2
Cut a rectangle from polar fleece that is 16 inches wide and 24 inches long. This part forms the hood.
-
-
3
Fold the hood along the length so that it is now 16 inches wide and 12 inches long. If the polar fleece is single-sided, fold it so that the patterned side is facing inward.
-
4
Place the hood on a flat surface so that the fold is to your right.
-
5
Round off the upper, right corner. This is the top corner of the hood, where the back of your head fits.
-
6
Sew the top of the hood closed.
-
7
Turn the hood right-side out so that the seaming is on the inside.
-
8
Match the center point of the bottom of the hood to the center point on one of the long edges of the scarf and pin them together. If there is a right side and wrong side to the fabric, pin the fabric so that the right sides are facing each other.
-
9
Pin the edge of the hood to the edge of the scarf.
-
10
Sew the edge of the hood to the edge of the scarf.
-
11
Remove the pins. At this point, the scarf hoodie is ready to be worn.
