Make a gift basket for a friend in your life.

Your friends are likely some of the most important people in your life. When a friend's birthday or a special occasion rolls around, consider creating a gift basket to help her celebrate it. Gift baskets are easy to make for friends because you probably already know their likes, dislikes, hobbies and interests. Baskets also often have a more personal touch than other options that you could purchase.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a basket for the friendship gift. The basket should be large enough so that all of your gift items fit snugly inside it. If your items are large, make sure that the basket is deep enough so that it won't tip over. Fill the basket about three-quarters of the way with gift basket filler, which could be shredded paper, Easter grass, crumpled tissue paper or anything else in which you nestle the gift items.

Choose items for your gift basket that are devoted to your friendship. For example, place a framed picture of the two of you in the basket, along with a friendship bracelet. Include a picture book from a destination where you went together on a trip. Add a DVD that you enjoy watching together and any other things that are inspired by your friendship.

Create a gift basket for your friend that is focused on one of his favorite hobbies. For example, if he likes to run, include a reusable water bottle, a gift card for music downloads that he can listen to on his MP3 player, a book about training for marathons and a new pair of shorts.

Choose a gift basket filled with your friend's favorite food. A chocolate lover would likely enjoy a basket filled with truffles, hot chocolate mix, brownies and cookies. A gourmet food enthusiast might appreciate a basket filled with flavored olive oils, aged balsamic vinegar, a wedge of Parmesan cheese, caviar and a cookbook.

Place the items in your basket with the tall things at the back and the smaller ones toward the front. Wrap the basket in cellophane and tie a ribbon around the top of the cellophane to secure it.
