How to Avoid an Account Block on Craigslist
Avoid an account block on Craigslist to keep from losing permissions to post on the site -- or worse, having your IP address banned altogether. Using a Craigslist account is contingent on your abiding by the site's Terms of Use, a set of rules to which you agree when you sign up for an account. Although a single violation doesn't always cost you your posting privileges, err on the side of caution if you're in doubt as to whether your words or actions violate the terms.

1
Post only within the category that corresponds to your item. Craigslist allows other users to "flag" posts they feel violate its Terms of Use. Posting in the wrong category, deliberately or otherwise, is one of these reasons, so choose carefully.
-
2
Avoid spamming or overposting to Craigslist. If you're renting your home out during an upcoming music festival, for example, don't make a post in "Sublets," "Vacation Rentals" and "Apartments" or repost your posting every day. Excessive reposting, be it in multiple categories or simply repetitive, violates Craigslist's Terms of Use.

3
Treat any person with whom you make contact on the site with respect and dignity in all interactions. Avoid harassing or threatening behavior or language. If you attempt to complete a transaction with someone and he doesn't go through with his end of the deal, don't make defamatory postings on Craigslist as a means of revenge.
-
4
Use Craigslist only for legal purposes, which include buying and selling products and services, finding a job or finding someone to work for you. Don't use Craigslist for illegal purposes, such as a front for selling illegal drugs.
