How to Get Fitted for a Ski Helmet
Ski helmets are a must for the safety-conscious skier. Helmets greatly reduce the risk of serious injury for both beginning and experienced skiers. Choosing a ski helmet that fits properly is essential to maximize its effectiveness.

Measure the circumference of your head in inches by wrapping a cloth measuring tape around your head just above the eyebrows. The resulting measurement is your ski helmet size.

Check that the sizing from Step 1 is correct. Place the ski helmet on your head. The pads on the cheek and forehead should be flush against the skin with no gaps. Ensure that the back of the helmet does not touch the nape of the neck.

Fasten the chinstrap on the helmet. The ski helmet should be tight, but comfortable. Tilt your head back and forth as if you were trying to shake the helmet off your head. The helmet should not move as you shake your head.
