How to Make Web Links in FrameMaker thumbnail
FrameMaker doesn't automatically underline linked text.

FrameMaker is a document authoring application created by Adobe Systems. Its primary purpose is the creation of large documents, such as technical guides and manuals. To add a Web link to a FrameMaker document, you must select the desired text and add in hyperlink syntax. You also must change the formatting of the text manually to make the hyperlinked text stand out once you've published the document.

Instructions

    • 1

Run Adobe FrameMaker and open the document to which you wish to add a Web link.

    • 2

Select the text to which you would like to add a link. Hold the "Ctrl" key and press the "U" to add underline formatting to the selected text.

    • 3

Right-click the underlined text, then click "Special," then select "Hypertext" in the menu that appears.

    • 4

Click "Message Client" in the Command drop-down menu.

    • 5

Type the following in the Syntax text box:

      message URL http://example.com

Substitute the URL that you wish to link to in place of "example.com" in the above example.

    • 6

Click the "New Hypertext Marker" button. This saves the Web link to your FrameMaker document.
