How to Put a Ringtone From a Sidekick Slide Onto a Computer

Obtain a USB cord for the Sidekick from an electronics store.

You can put ringtones stored on your Sidekick Slide mobile phone onto your computer. Ringtones that you created or that were received from friends may be copied to a folder on the computer. The original file remains on your Slide phone, while a copy is added to a computer folder of your choice. Outside of the phone's USB drivers, you do not need to install anything else on your computer to copy the ringtones.

Instructions

1. Connect your Sidekick Slide to the computer with a USB cable. The computer will recognize your phone and automatically install the drivers for it.

2. Click the "Start" button on the computer, then click "Computer."

3. Open the Sidekick's folder under "Removable Devices." Double-click the "Music" folder and all of the music files, including ringtones, will be displayed.

4. Open a folder in which to save the transferred ringtones.

5. Drag the ringtones from the Sidekick's folder to the computer folder. Drop the tone in the folder to copy it onto your computer.

6. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
