How to Do the Mad Hatter Eye Makeup
The Mad Hatter is a character from "Alice in Wonderland," and has been a fun Halloween costume for both boys and girls for years. Most recently the character has been played by Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's adaptation. Doing makeup like this version of the Mad Hatter will take some time and a bit of patience, but after a bit of practice you should be able to recreate it close to perfectly. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Eyeshadow primer
- Sky-blue eyeshadow.
- Pink eyeshadow
- Purple eyeshadow
- Orange eyeshadow or eyeliner
- Mauve eyeshadow
- White eyeshadow
- White mascara
- Flat eyeshadow brush
- Eyeliner brush
Instructions

Apply eyeshadow primer and allow it to dry for two to three minutes to keep the eyeshadow from smudging or fading.

Apply sky-blue eyeshadow over your entire left eyelid up to your brow bone using a flat eyeshadow brush.

Using the flat eyeshadow brush again, apply purple eyeshadow over your entire right eyelid up to your brow bone.

Outline the top and bottom lash line with white eyeliner so it is visible.

Rim your waterline (inner eyelid) with your orange eyeliner or eyeshadow using an eyeliner brush.

Apply pink eyeshadow beneath the lower lash line on both eyes, blending it out to give a "dark circle" type of look.

Blend the mauve eyeshadow over the pink on the outer corners of both eyes, blending in over it about halfway under your eye.

Add a light-handed sheer of your orange eyeshadow over the pink and mauve you just applied.

Apply heavy coats of white mascara on your upper and lower lashes.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure to purchase an orange eyeshadow that is safe to apply to the waterline. If you cannot find one, skip this step and just apply the eyeshadow very thin close to the lash line.
Be sure to do an allergy test when using any or all new makeup brands.
