How to Adjust Margins for Rocketdock Skins

Unlike the standard Windows taskbar, Rocketdock's taskbar, or "dock," allows users to cycle through a custom list of programs and folders. Rocketdock's default dock is fairly plain, but you can pep up your dock's appearance with skin add-ons. If your Rocketdock skin's don't quite fit the dimensions of your display, you don't have to settle for the default dock. Each skin is zipped with an image and configuration file that tells Rocketdock how to display the skin. You can realign the margins of your Rocketdock skins to fit your display.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Start" button in your taskbar, and then select the "Computer" option from the Start menu. Click on the hard drive that contains your installation of Rocket.

    • 2

Open the "Program Files" folder on the hard drive, and then open the "Rocketdock" folder. Open the "Skins" folder, and then open the skin file folder that contains the skins you'd like to edit.

    • 3

Click on the "Background.INI" configuration file in the folder to adjust the margins of the skin's wallpaper. Click on the "Separator.INI" file to adjust the margins of the dock's separators. The selected configuration file will load into Notepad for editing.

Highlight the value next to the margin you'd like to edit. For example, you'd highlight the "80" to the right of the "BottomMargin =" to change the skin's bottom margin. Type the desired value in place of the old one.
