How to Make My Own Men's Pre-Shave Oil

You can dramatically reduce nicks and other shaving-related skin irritations with the help of a soothing pre-shave oil. A good pre-shave oil makes your face feel smooth and relaxed before your daily shave. In addition, you can easily throw together your own pre-shave oil with a few basic household essentials. Instead of needlessly shelling out cash for over-the-counter oils, head into the kitchen before your next shave and whip up a fresh batch of homemade pre-shave oil.

Things You'll Need

• Empty bottle
• Essential oil of your choosing
• Castor oil
• Olive oil

Instructions

1. Mix your various oils in an empty bottle. Pour in your olive oil until the bottle is roughly one-third full. Follow up by pouring in castor oil until the bottle is practically all the way full. Leave a small bit of room at the top to add four to seven drops of your favorite essential oil.

2. Seal the bottle tightly. Give your newly formed mixture a vigorous shaking. After you've thoroughly mixed the olive and castor oils, your homemade pre-shave oil will be ready to use.

3. Apply your pre-shave oil before your next shave. Use your hands to gently rub your oil onto any areas you wish to shave. This will give you a clean, smooth, irritation-free shave.

• If you'd like your pre-shave oil to have a pleasant aroma, add the fragrance of your choosing.
