How to Play Catch a Wave Card Game
Catch a Wave is a card game frequently found in casinos. It is played by betting on whether or not a player can guess if the next card dealt will be higher or lower in value than the previous card. As such, players with excellent recall of which cards have already been played have a distinct advantage. Each player has up to six chances to bet on the next card in each round, but as soon as they guess incorrectly, play moves-on to the next player.

1
Make a wager. Every player needs to make a wager, before the cards are dealt.
-
2
Deal one card, face-side up, to each player.
-
-
3
Choose to stand or hit, based on the card you have in front of you.
-
4
Deal an additional card to the players that have chosen to hit, moving counterclockwise around the table. If the player correctly guesses, they may go again. Each player is allowed up to six "hits," if they continue to guess incorrectly. After the sixth card, or when they guess incorrectly, play moves to the next player. Each correct guess earns you the amount of your initial bet, but a failed guess loses you any accumulated winnings for that turn.

5
Deal an extra card to the dealer, if applicable. The house rules dictate that the dealer will guess higher, if the card is a seven or lower -- and guess lower, if the card is an eight or higher. If the dealer loses, each player receives their initial bet back. The dealer is not limited to six cards and can continue hitting until they lose.
