How to Install Android Speech Synthesis
It's not always convenient to read the text on an Android's screen. For example, if you are driving you don't want to take your eyes off the road to read an email or text message. Your Android can read text back to you, but some Android devices do not come with text-to-speech voices installed. If your Android phone or tablet does not have the text-to-speech capability, you can install the application and extra voices through the Android Market.

Touch the "Market" application to open the Android Market.

Touch the magnifying glass icon and type "SpeechSynthesis Data Installer."

Touch the SpeechSynthesis Data Installer app and tap "Download."

Touch "Accept & download" to install the app.

Press "Home" to return to the main screen.
