Instructions

    • 1

Insert the fan brace through the hole in the ceiling where you're installing the chandelier. The fan brace is what holds the chandelier still and keeps it from tilting.

    • 2

Set the fan brace inside the hole so that each end is on either side of the hole. To prevent tilting, be sure there are equal lengths of the brace on both sides.

    • 3

Rotate the hexagonal piece with your hand to tighten the fan brace. After a few turns, the prongs of the brace will cling to the ceiling joists.

    • 4

Keep tightening the fan brace hexagonal piece with a wrench. A few turns should be plenty to prevent the chandelier from tilting. Once the fan brace is tightened, you can wire the chandelier and install the canopy and chain. With a properly installed brace, the chandelier should not tilt.
