How to Make Portrait Photography Fliers
Photography is a way of capturing life's moments nearly forever. Reminding your customer base of the importance of keeping portrait photographs as a way of preserving memories will go along way to showing the need to keep future memories through photographs as well. Fliers that emphasize your portrait photography can be a good way of achieving this goal for your business. Fliers can be inexpensively created and distributed through the use of word processing or publishing software. Fliers should include your logo, contact information, a listing of the types of work you do and samples of photographs you've taken previously.

1
Open a new file in the word processing program of your choice. Insert the title and/or logo of your company at the top center of the document. Type the title and insert the logo by choosing "Insert" along the top menu choices and then clicking on "Image" from the drop-down selection that opens up.

2
Drop down two lines and add any advertising text you feel may help you gain business. For example, "Located conveniently at the heart of (insert town), we are ready to capture your next unforgettable moment on film." Then go on to include the type of work you do such as "Photos on site, ours or yours. Black and Whites, Families, Individual and Pet Portraits!"

Insert one or two more lines of white space under that and include two or three photos you've taken in the past. Choose a variety of portraits such as those used for sports or modeling portfolios, family portraits or wedding still shots.
-
4
Type an invitation at the bottom of your flier for people to call you or reach you through your website for a free quote or more information.
-
5
Proofread your work and save the flier when you finish. Distribute the flier in locations where you've obtained permission to do so from private property owners or the owners of noncompeting businesses in your area.

Tips & Warnings
There are dozens of word processing and publishing applications currently available in today's market. Some of those that might be of interest are Open Office or Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher. Open Office is available in a free download from openoffice.org while Microsoft products offer a free 60-day trial from Microsoft.com. Click and drag your mouse over any text to experiment with the formatting icons such as "center," "underline" or "italicize," along the top toolbar of your software package.
Do not put false information into your flier. The Federal Trade Commission forbids and will impose penalties for misleading customers with the use of advertisements. Some forms of false advertising can include information about guarantees or prices that do not exist.
