How to Set Up Endian

While the installation of the Endian UTM Linux-based security distribution software follows an automated installer, it will not work until you set it up within the program for your network. Endian UTM allows you turn your computer into a virtual United Threat Management system by utilizing a fully-fledged security system with the installation. This integrates into your network offering firewall, virtual private network, gateway anti-virus, anti-spam, filtering and security in a single package.

      Open Endian UTM from the desktop application. The Dashboard automatically opens.

      Click "System" from the items along the top and then "Network Configuration" on the left. A wizard will open. Click "Next" to start the wizard.

      Select the type of network connection you are using from the list and then click "Next." Select the standard network zone security you want from "Green" (trusted), "Red" (untrusted), "Orange" (external host servers only) and "Blue" (wireless hotspot). Click "Next."

      Enter your computer's network IP, the subnet mask and the interface this computer uses to access the network. Click "Next."

      Choose the preferences for your Internet settings if any of them apply to your setup. Click "Next," and then set the DNS settings if you have a DNS set up. Click "Next," then enter your email address details to run as the administrator.

      Click "Next" and then "OK" to apply the setup changes and complete the wizard.
