The Canon PIXMA MP600 is an effective solution for small businesses and home offices. You can use your PIXMA MP600 to print documents, print high-quality images, scan, copy and fax. Before you get started with the PIXMA MP600 there are a few installation steps that you have to complete. Once you've completed these steps you'll be ready to use the device for all of your document production needs.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull open the printer's paper tray, paper support, and output tray.

    • 2

Plug the power adapter into the back of the MP600. Plug the other end of the adapter into a wall outlet.

    • 3

Flip open the operation panel and press the "ON/OFF" button to turn on the MP600.

    • 4

Highlight the desired language using the operation panel's arrow keys and press the "OK" button.

    • 5

Pull up on the scanner cover, then open the inner cover. The MP600's print head holder will automatically move to the center of the unit.

    • 6

Raise the lever on the right side of the print head holder.

    • 7

Remove the print head's orange protective cap and then snap the print head into the holder.

    • 8

Return the lever to its original position. Doing so locks the print head into place.

    • 9

Remove the orange protective cap on the bottom of the MP600's ink tank and then snap the ink tank into the right-most ink tank slot. The ink tank LED will turn red if you install it correctly.

    • 10

Close the inner cover and the scanner cover. Wait for the MP600 to become silent before proceeding; it should stop making noise in about two minutes.

    • 11

Load a sheet of blank paper into the printer's input tray.

    • 12

Highlight "Yes" on the operation panel and press the "OK" button to print a head alignment page. The printer automatically determines the proper head alignment. This process can take up to six minutes. Once you align the heads the Canon MP600 is ready for use.
