How to Track Spiders in Google Analytics

Use Google Analytics to discover where your website traffic originates. The "Traffic Sources" section of your Google Analytics report identifies the search engine spiders that surfed your website and provides other useful information about your traffic sources. You can view your Google Analytics report from a Web browser and track the search engine spiders.

      Browse to the Google Analytics website and log in to your account. Click the "View Report" link that appears next to your website name to open the main Analytics dashboard.

      Click "Traffic Sources" under the Dashboard heading on the left sidebar to display a list of categories, including Direct Traffic, Referring Sites and Search Engines.

      Click on the "All Traffic Sources" category to display an expanded report of all incoming traffic to your website, including spiders. You can also review the "Keywords" section of your Google Analytics traffic report to identify the keywords used to find your site.
