How to Install Undermount TVs
Placing an undermount TV in a kitchen, den, workshop or other space requires sturdy wall-mounted cabinetry for proper installation. Most TV units designed for mounting come with the required connection equipment, and some models have a swivel mount at the top to allow for slight adjustments for better viewing. This project requires general household tools and a drill. It takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. Enlist the help of an assistant when lifting and mounting the TV. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Locate a cabinet for mounting the TV that has an accessible power outlet. Consider whether the TV needs a cable hookup and arrange to have one installed or plan to run a line to the nearest connection.
-
2
Remove any items from inside the cabinet and clear the counter so that there is nothing to interfere with the installation. Disconnect and remove any under-cabinet lighting or other previously installed fixtures.
-
-
3
Place the paper mounting template that came with the TV to the inside of the cabinet. Ensure that the proper side is up, that it is square, and that the arrow is facing the front of the cabinet. Tape it to the base so it will not shift. Draw circles with a pencil through the openings in the template to note the location for the mounting holes and remove the template.
-
4
Fit a 3/16-inch drill bit into a power drill and bore holes straight down through the cabinet base. Keep the bit perfectly vertical to make sure that the holes are not angled. Set the mounting washers over each hole in the cabinet.
-
5
Lift the TV with the help of an assistant so it is up against the underside of the cabinet. Try to insert one mounting screw through one of the front holes, while slowly moving the unit around the base slightly until it slips down slightly into the TV mounting hole. Tighten the screw with a Phillips screwdriver so that it is almost completely tight.
-
6
Insert a mounting screw into the rear corner hole that is diagonal from the first one installed. Tighten this screw down securely and then tighten the first completely. Place screws in all of the remaining holes.
-
7
Plug the power cord into the nearest electrical outlet and connect it to a cable outlet if applicable. Test the operation of the TV to ensure that it works correctly.
