How to Troubleshoot a Weak Lynksys WRT150N Signal
The Linksys WRT150N is a wireless Internet router that is used to create a Wi-Fi Internet connection to share with the Wi-Fi enabled devices in your home or office. In addition, the router has four built-in Ethernet ports that can be used to connect wired devices, such as Blu-Ray players and televisions, to your home network. In some instances, you may find that your Linksys WRT150N router does not produce a strong enough wireless signal. Fortunately, a number of techniques can help expand the range of your router.

1
Position your Linksys WRT150N router so that it is as close as possible to the center of your home or office. Avoid placing your router next to items that may block the transmission of your wireless signal, such as microwaves and walls.

2
Change the wireless frequency that your router uses. In some cases another device, such as a cordless phone, may broadcast on the same frequency, which will interfere with your router's ability to broadcast a Wi-Fi signal. Launch your computer's Web browser and input the address "http://192.168.1.1" into the URL field at the top of the screen and press "Enter." Click within the dialog box to the right of the Frequency tab and select any one of the other five frequencies. Press "Apply" at the bottom of the screen to save your settings.

Replace the two antennas on the rear of your Linksys WRT150N using high-gain antennas. Unscrew the stock antennas at the base of the router and store them in a safe place in the event you need to use them again. Insert the new, high-gain antennas into the ports on the router and tightly screw them in. The new antennas are more powerful and should allow your router to produce a stronger wireless signal.
