You can make a professional looking badge at home using your computer.

Whether you need badges for a job-related event or for role-playing games with the kids, you can make them at home using your computer and items found at your local office supply store. Kids can design their own logos for the badges. If the badge is for business, you can copy and paste your company logo onto the badge for a more official look.

  • Computer
  • Word processing software
  • Printer
  • Card stock
  • Scissors
  • Plastic badge sleeves

Instructions

      Create a new custom project with your word processing software. Choose the "Business Card" template or create your own project by creating a template that is 3 1/2-inches by 2-inches.

      Set the font to 36 point and click on the "Center Text" tool.

      Type your name, hit the "Enter" button and type your position in the company in 26 point font size.

      Press "Enter" and type in any identifying information that might be required by the venue you will be visiting. If you are making the badges for play, you can enter your child's birth date on this line.

      Copy and paste your logo. Position it on the upper left-hand side of the badge.

      Print the badge.

      Cut out the badge and slide it into the plastic badge sleeve.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are making a badge for work make sure your company allows the production of homemade badges. It might require workers to use official badges supplied by Human Resources.
