Instructions

    • 1

Wash and condition hair as normal. Remove the moisture from your hair using a towel until you reach a damp consistency.

    • 2

Apply a heat-protectant spray to your hair and comb it through. The heat-protectant will protect your hair against heat-based styling tools such as a hairdryer and curling iron.

    • 3

Part your hair to the side of your head with the long end of a comb. The part will begin at your left or right eyebrow arch. This allows enough hair to flow over one of your eyes.

    • 4

Dry your hair with a hairdryer set to medium heat. As you dry, brush your hair from the part over the top of your head. The brushing, combined with the heat, will help smooth your hair from any bumps from the part being in an unnatural position. Pull the brush through your hair until the hair is completely dry.

    • 5

Heat a 1-inch-diameter curling iron to the hottest setting and wait for it to heat entirely before curling. Begin with the long piece of hair at the front of your head. This hair is the beginning of the peekaboo style. Insert the hair between the clamp and the barrel, and curl the hair under until you are 1 inch from the scalp.

    • 6

Open the clamp and allow the hair to fall from the iron naturally. You may need to slide the curling iron downward to ensure all the hair is out before releasing the clamp.

    • 7

Roll the curl back up to your head and pin it against your scalp with a bobby pin. Continue curling the front of your hair and pinning. Once you reach the sides and back, curl the hair but there is no need to pin.

    • 8

Release the pinned curls. Because of the side part, the curls should slide to one side. Gently adjust the curls so one eye is covered with curly hair. Spray the hair with a light-hold hairspray.

Tips & Warnings

  • For thin hair, set the curling iron to medium heat to prevent damage.

  • Pull hair into a ponytail and leave short bangs over one eye.

  • Apply a deep conditioner to your hair weekly if you use heat-based styling products more than three times a week.
