How to Make an Astronaut Helmet With Boxes
Cardboard boxes can transform into a myriad of objects, such as cars, airplanes, houses or helmets. If you're interested in astronauts and space travel, transform a regular cardboard box into a space helmet. A cardboard box also works well as a costume helmet for a space-themed Halloween costume.

1
Place the box over a friend's head. Draw a "U" shape on the sides of the box where they overlap the shoulders. This will make the helmet stay on better and also will make wearing the helmet more comfortable. Cut out the "U" shapes.

2
Cut out circles to see through the helmet.

Spread out a large sheet of aluminum foil onto a flat surface. Cover the foil with glue. Place one side of the box on top of the foil. Repeat this process to cover the other sides of the box with foil. Fold the edges of the foil under the sides of the box.

Paint details onto the box with poster paint. Paint on "USA," white stars or an American flag. Paint on an oxygen tube or other buttons or details. Allow the paint to dry for two hours before using the helmet.
