Adobe After Effects allows you to warp, squeeze and edit picture or video files. You can make slight adjustments to a person to make them appear thinner on screen. If you use just the right amount of editing, a few inches body can be squished together to make a person look skinny without looking it like a reflection from a carnival mirror. This process works in all "CS" versions of Adobe After Effects.
Step 1
Right-click in the project window and select "Import." Choose the video or image that you want to edit. Click "OK" to add it to the project.

Drag and drop the media file into the "Layers" window. The media file will appear in the "Monitor" window.
Step 3
Scrub to the section of the video that you want to apply the effect to. If the file is a photo, skip this step.
Step 4
Click once on the layer to highlight it. Go to "Effect," "Distort" and select "Liquify." It will automatically apply the effect.
Step 5
Click on the "Effect Controls" tab at the top left corner of the screen. Select the upper right corner "Liquify" icon. It is a square with all four sides being pushed in.
Step 6
Expand the "Pucker Tool Options" to access the brush size. Adjust the brush size until it is a small circle that can get the little details of the body.
Step 7
Click in the "Monitor" window around the wait area to push it in. Stay close to the waist so the other areas of the media do not become affected.
Step 8
Apply extra strokes to thin out arms, legs and the face as needed. Do a little at a time so you can see how each click affects the small details.
