Create your own Valentine's Day tags for a memorable gift to others.

Make your next Valentine's Day celebration memorable with homemade gift tags. Attach your tags to hand-wrapped bags of chocolates or candies, loose-leaf tea, small containers of jams or to the sides of vases containing single carnations, daisies or roses. Wrap homemade brownies, cookies or rice-crispy treats with cellophane and ribbons. Make the gifts personal by attaching present tags with friendly, cute or even flirtatious messages that you design and print yourself for Valentine's Day.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a rectangle measuring 3.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall using a word processing or graphics software program on your computer. Give the rectangle pink or red borders to make it look like a label.

    • 2

Add a design to the left or right side of the rectangle. You could add heart-shaped balloons that say phrases like "Love," "Be Mine," "Sweet" or "Treats 4 U." Use clip art on your graphics or word processing program or create the hearts yourself with heart shapes and curly lines for strings. Use a label template if you want to use a pre-made design as opposed to making your own.

    • 3

Tab to the side of the design inside of your custom-made label and type "To:" Skip a line and type "From:" so that you can use the tags to identify who the gifts are for and the fact that you gave them.

    • 4

Copy the entire label design and paste it five to seven more times on the page layout, fitting as many labels as you can onto one page. Use a color printer to print the labels onto sheets of white card stock paper or sticker paper.

    • 5

Cut the labels out with a pair of scissors. Fill in the names of who the gifts are going to and your own name to indicate who the gifts are from on each label. Punch holes into the upper-left corners with a hole punch if you created the labels on card stock paper. Peel labels off of sticker paper and attach them directly to the surface of homemade gifts or treats.

    • 6

String a piece of ribbon through the hole on each label and attach the label to a vase or wrapped treat by tying the ribbon around it.
