How to Make Natural Scrubbing Paste Cleaner

Either baking soda or cream of tartar can serve as the primary ingredient in recipes for natural scrubbing paste cleaners. Cream of tartar, or potassium hydrogen tartrate, is an acid that is effective as a mild abrasive. Baking soda, or sodium hydrogen carbonate, is an alkali, also a mild abrasive, and is effective at cleaning tile, porcelain and glass.

Things You'll Need

• Bowl
• Spoon
• Baking soda or cream of tartar
• White distilled vinegar or lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

1. Add half a cup of baking soda or cream of tartar to a bowl.

2. Add 1 tablespoon of water to the bowl and stir. Instead of water, use lemon juice or white distilled vinegar to punch up the cleaning power of the paste.

3. Continue adding the liquid, one drop at a time, continually stirring, until the mixture is the consistency of toothpaste.
