How to Make Chan Luu on a Loom
Make your own Chan Luu beaded leather wrap bracelet on a beading loom. The trendy bracelets, made by fashion designer Chan Luu, consist of a string of beads sewn between two round leather laces in a ladder stitch. The ladder stitch holds the beads in a neat row between the two leather laces.
Things You'll Need

- Scissors
- 0.07-millimeter beading thread, 6 feet
- Size 10 beading needle
- Round beads, 6-millimeter

1
Insert each end of the leather lace into the holes of the two hole closure button. Slide the two hole closure button down to the middle of the leather lace. Hold the two leather lace ends together and tie the leather in a simple overhand knot 1/2-inch down from the closure button to make a loop with the lace.

2
Slip the loop over the post at one end of your loom. Run the laces down the center of the loom to the other end. Pull the leather laces taut and wrap the free ends of the leather lace around the other post.

3
Place one end of the beading thread into a size 10 beading needle. Pull the needle to the center of the thread and hold the ends together to double up the thread. Tie the ends of the thread to the left leather cord, on the left side of your beading loom in a simple over hand knot.

4
Pass the beading thread under the left leather lace. String on a round bead and slide it down the thread to sit between the left and right leather lace. Pull the thread taut to make the bead sit snug between the laces. Pass the thread over and under the right lace, then insert the needle back through the bead.

5
Pass the beading thread over and the left lace. String on another bead. Pass the thread over and under the right lace, then back through the bead. Pull the thread taut to make the bead sit snug between the laces.
-
6
Keep passing the bead thread and adding a bead until you have reached the desired length of your bracelet. Tie the doubled ends of the beading thread around the left lace. Tie the thread in an over hand knot. Trim the thread and slide the knot over into the last bead.
-
7
Remove the free ends of the leather lace from the end of the loom. Hold them together and tie it in an overhand knot, as close to the last bead as you can get it. Remove the other side of the bracelet from the loom.
-
8
Hold the lace ends together and tie them in an overhand knot. Tie another overhand knot 1-inch away from the first knot. Tie the third knot close to the ends of the leather lace. Apply a dab of leather glue onto all of the knots you tied in the leather lace to finish making your Chan Luu bracelet.
