The soapy mixture will stun the roach or spider by suffocating them. This is a way to stop individual spiders or cockroaches without using harsh chemicals. Avoid throwing out the animal in the trash as they can revive if the soapy water evaporates quickly. Discard the animal by flushing it down a toilet. Avoid stepping on cockroaches because stepping on a female will disperse her eggs.
