How to Make Napkin Bows

Fold cloth napkins into bows for distinctive place settings.

Instead of laying out boring rectangular cloth napkins for your next event, fold the napkins into bows. Bow napkins give you the opportunity to showcase napkin rings. Even napkin-folding novices can create napkin bows your guests will remember. Make your next event memorable with attractive folded napkin bows.

Instructions

1. Lay the napkin flat with the printed or front side facing down.

2. Fold the upper left and lower right corners in toward the center so the points almost touch.

3. Fold the napkin in half horizontally, lifting the bottom edge up to meet the top. The right side will be facing out on both sides.

4. Fold the napkin horizontally from the bottom once more.

5. Fold the two ends in toward the middle. Fold the right over the left so the ends point down like the tails of a bow.

6. Slide the napkin ring onto the left tail, pull the folded end through and settle the ring in the middle of the napkin. One end of the bow should hang down on each side.
