How to Do a Resume for a Job With Your College Credits
If you are a recent college graduate, you may not have significant work experience to list on your resume. Though your degree speaks for itself, you can highlight specific college credits you earned that are relevant to the jobs you are seeking. If you did not complete a degree, you may find it important to show you have completed certain key college credits and list the number of credits earned. Despite your lack of experience or a degree, don't insert filler on your resume just to beef it up.

If You Have a College Degree
-
1
Create an "Education" section in your resume. In this section, include the name of your school, degree earned, location and date.
-
2
Under "Education," create a subcategory called "Career-Related Coursework." Create a bulleted list of completed classes. List no more than six to eight classes as most employers don't want to see your entire transcript on the resume. You may also want to list your GPA and other academics honors.
-
-
3
Create a section for "Work Experience." List any jobs and internships you have had that are related to the type of jobs you are seeking.
If You Do Not Have a College Degree
-
4
Under the "Education" section of your resume, input each college attended, the location of the college and a sentence stating how many credits you completed and toward what type of degree. For example, state: "Completed 73 credits toward a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics."
-
5
Under "Education," create a subcategory called "Career-Related Coursework." List the relevant coursework completed as it relates to the jobs you are seeking.
-
6
State the number of college credits you have left to complete, if you are within a few semesters or 20 or so credits from completing the program. For example, include a statement stating "15 credits away from completing Bachelor of Science in math program."
