How Can I Get IDM to Only Download One File at a Time?
Internet Download Manager lets you schedule and manage multiple downloads and features the ability to pause and resume downloads. By default, IDM downloads four files at a time. This normally makes each individual download slower, so you have to wait longer to use a file. You can change IDM's settings to download only one file at a time, which will speed up the download for an individual file.

Click "Scheduler."

Click the download queue that you want to manage from the list on the left.

Click the "Files in Queue" tab.

Click the drop-down menu located between "Download" and "Files at the Same Time." Click "1."

Downloading only one file at a time speeds up the download for that file only. It makes the total download time for multiple files longer.
