How to Kill Brynhildr in "Final Fantasy XIII"
In "Final Fantasy XIII," each member of your party has the power to summon an Eidolon, a mythical beast with overwhelmingly powerful attacks. Before a team member can summon an Eidolon, though, he must prove to the creature that he is capable of controlling such strength. In Nautilus Park, the Eidolon Brynhildr will join Sazh if you can defeat it in battle. Sazh's only ally in this fight is Vanille, but the two of them are more than a match for Brynhildr. To win the fight, you need to fill Brynhildr's Gestalt meter using attacks and magic.

1
Open the menu before the battle with Brynhildr begins. Create three paradigms. For the first, put Sazh in the Synergist role and Vanille in the Medic role. For the second paradigm, assign both Sazh and Vanille to the Ravager role. For the third, give Sazh the Synergist role and Vanille the Saboteur role.

2
Proceed to the battle with Brynhildr. When the fight begins, switch to the Synergist and Saboteur paradigm. Sazh and Vanille automatically cast buffs, like Shell and Protect. They also debuff any protection Brynhildr is using. This fills a part of the Gestalt meter.

3
Use the Synergist and Medic paradigm if your HP gets too low. Vanille heals the party. She also casts Haste, a buff that speeds up your party's attack time.
-
4
Use the Ravager paradigm to make Vanille and Sazh cast their most powerful magic attacks, which will inflict significant damage on Brynhildr.

5
Look for a prompt to appear on-screen when the Gestalt meter is almost full. When the prompt appears, press "X" if you're playing on the PlayStation 3 or "B" if you're playing on the Xbox 360. Gestalt mode activates, and you defeat Brynhildr. The Eidolon now belongs to Sazh.
