Outlook can edit a digital signature for outgoing messages.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 can create an electronic signature to insert in an email message. This electronic ID can personalize your correspondence with your recipients. A digital signature appears as a footer in the message screen. "Outlook Options" feature "Mail" options that change the design and layout of your outgoing message. The "Signature" section includes editing commands to set the e-signature's alignment.

      Open the Outlook email program.

      Click the "File" tab on the ribbon. An "Outlook Options" dialog window opens with two panes.

      Click the "Mail" button in the left pane.

      Click the "Signatures" button in the "Create or modify signatures for messages" section in the right pane. The "Signatures and Stationery" dialog window appears.

      Click the signature name from the top left text box. A larger view of the signature appears in the "Edit signature" text box.

      Edit the signature. Click an alignment button to align left, center or align right.

      Click "OK," then the "Signatures and Stationery" dialog window closes.

Tips & Warnings

  • To insert the reformatted signature in a new email, click the "New E-mail" button in the "New" group. Click the "Message" tab in the "Message" screen. Click in the message box where you wish to insert the signature. Click the arrow for the "Signature" button in the "Include" group. Click the signature name. The signature appears in the message box.
