How to Determine the Sony Trinitron Model
Sony's Trinitron brand of televisions was introduced in 1968, and millions of consumers bought these TV sets before the line was discontinued in 2008. Trinitrons have a history of reliable performance, but like all electronic devices, the parts on these TVs can wear out or break. If this happens, you'll need to know the model number of your Trinitron so you can have the set repaired. On most Trinitrons, the model number can be found on the back of the television and in the user manual.

1
Look at the cover of your Sony Trinitron user manual, if you still have it. The model number of your TV can usually be found here. Look for the letters "KD" or "KV" followed by a string of numbers and letters. This is your television's model number.

2
Turn the Trinitron television around so that you have access to the back of the unit. If the television is large or very heavy, ask for assistance with this task to avoid injury.
