The Berkley Gulp! crab is designed to mimic a real crab.

The Berkley Gulp! crab is an artificial bait made from natural ingredients. It is designed to mimic a live peeler crab. The unique bait is impregnated with scent and, indeed, the crabs are strong-smelling. Studies have shown the Gulp! crab emits 400 times more scent than a real crab. The Berkley Gulp! crab is available in 1-, 2- and 4-inch models in a wide variety of colors. The water-soluble lure is 100 percent biodegradable and breaks down in nature in about nine months.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the hook point into the side of the crab, right along the oversize arm.

    • 2

Rotate the hook so the point pops out the crab's opposite side.

    • 3

Slide the crab up the shank of the hook to secure it and to expose the hook for better percentages of hooking your intended catch.

Tips & Warnings

  • A 1/0 hook is about the right size for the 1-inch crab; the 2/0 for the 2-inch and a 4/0 for the 4-inch. Hook the Gulp! crab like you'd hook a real crab. The crab's oversize arm is designed to help hide the hook. Crabs swim sideways, so hooking the Gulp! crab through the side gives the bait a natural presentation.
