How to Adjust the Transparency of a Lifetouch Yearbook

Yearbooks mark the memories of high school.

Lifetouch is a yearbook program offered online. You can download the program to various computers in your school and build the yearbook digitally. This allows for easy manipulation of images and wording. You can adjust the transparency of different images so the work can be layered. The goal is to build unique pages while utilizing Lifetouch for school photos. The images provided by the company are easy to layout, for alphabetically listing students by grade.

Instructions

1. Open the Lifetouch yearbook program. Once the program boots up, choose the current yearbook project -- the one you wish to adjust.

2. Pick the page you wish to change from the drop-down menu at the top. You can alter the transparency of the entire page or of individual images.

3. Click to select the area you wish to make more or less transparent. Once the image or page has been selected, you will see a clear highlight around the area.

4. Choose the proper transparency -- or "opacity" -- from the drop-down menu on the left-side toolbar. The image will instantly adjust, so you can decide what the proper amount is as you work.

Tips & Warnings

• Layer darker photos on the bottom. Even with the adjustment in transparency, it might not be enough to see through to lower layers.

• Adjust entire page opacity, if you have a colorful background you wish to bleed through all the wording or imagery.

• Assign certain pages to specific people, to keep work from overlapping and causing a problem.

• You must have a copy of the Lifetouch program for every computer you wish to work on. Be sure to network the computers, so the latest version is always saved.
