How to Troubleshoot the Grohe Ladylux Faucet

The Grohe Ladylux faucet has a unique, lever handle on the side of the faucet that moves up and down. This atypical design makes operation easier for some but does not change the way you troubleshoot problems with the faucet. Like most modern-day faucets, the Ladylux has an internal cartridge that can be replaced when leaks form or the water pressure is not right. Does this Spark an idea?

      Turn off the water under the sink by closing both water pipe valves.

      Unscrew the small set screw on the underside of the base of the lever handle with a 3 mm Allen wrench. Unscrew the dome cap by turning it counterclockwise by hand and remove this part.

      Troubleshoot low or high water flow rates. Insert a 2.5 mm Allen wrench into the Allen screw at the top of the cartridge stem and turn counterclockwise to increase the flow rate from the spout, turn clockwise to decrease the flow rate.

      Troubleshoot leaks or poor temperature performance. Unscrew the handle adapter under the dome cap and the two screws on the cartridge collar under the adapter with the Allen wrench. Remove both parts and slide the cartridge out of the faucet.

      Insert a new cartridge into the faucet, replace the collar and screw it back in place. Replace the adapter, dome cap and handle.

      Troubleshoot low spray head flow by unscrewing the rinse sprayer on the end of the spray hose and the non-return valve, a tube-shaped, one-way valve inside the spray hose. Clean off both parts or replace if damaged and reassemble the sprayer.
