How to Make Polyethylene Coated Paper
Polyethylene-coated paper provides many benefits for use in a home or professional office. Making your own laminated paper involves a dry film lamination machine. The process of lamination involves hot pressing a piece of copy paper between two thin sheets of polyethylene sheets. Laminating a document, such as a certificate of appreciation or identification card, prevents the object from being bent or damaged. Thick coats of lamination can also turn a sheet of copy paper into a surface suitable for an erasable marker.

Insert the each lamination film rolls into the respective prefabricated upper and lower film shafts in your dry film or digital roll lamination machine. Purchase a lamination machine at your local home or office supply store. Buy lamination film rolls that suit the dimensions of your machine. Consult your lamination machine owner's manual for details.

Turn on the lamination machine. Change any lamination settings you desire-- speed and temperature, for example -- on the control panel. Adjust the film tension by turning the film-tension knob on the side of the front side of the machine. Increasing tension may cause the laminated paper to curl.
