How to Replace a Tile With a Toothbrush Holder
If a tile or tiles come loose on your bathroom walls, you might think about reattaching them with thin-set mortar or replacing them with a ceramic toothbrush holder. In either case, you'll have to use a putty knife to pry the old tile or tiles off to fit a toothbrush holder into the empty space. Things You'll Need
- Rubber gloves
- Trisodium phosphate (TSP)
- Bucket
- Sponge
- Hair dryer
- Silicone caulk
- Utility knife
- Caulk gun
- Toothbrush holder

Put on rubber gloves.

Combine three parts water with one part trisodium phosphate (TSP) in a bucket.

Clean the empty space where the tiles were attached to the bathroom wall using the mixture and a sponge. Rinse with plain water after cleaning.

Air dry the spot with a hair dryer, leaving no moisture in the empty space on the bathroom wall.

Cut off the tip of a tube of silicone caulk with a utility knife and break the seal inside the tube with the poker attached to the end of a caulk gun.

Squeeze a bead of caulk on the back of the toothbrush holder and immediately press the back of the holder against the empty spot on the bathroom wall.

Press the toothbrush holder against the wall for 45 to 60 seconds. Spread a thin bead of silicone caulk around the edges of the toothbrush holder against the wall and allow to dry to finish the installation.
