Tweezing is one of the less expensive ways in which to remove unwanted hair. Commonly used for shaping eyebrows, tweezing produces results quickly and lets you control which hairs are removed. If you have a low tolerance for pain, you might find tweezing to be uncomfortable or even painful. When you learn how to prepare yourself for tweezing, you can make the process less painful, enabling you to get the results you desire without wincing throughout the process. Things You'll Need

  • Chamomile tea bag
  • Tea cup
  • Cotton balls
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Wash cloth

      Place a bag of chamomile tea in a tea cup. Pour 6 oz. of hot water over the bag. Allow the tea to steep for five minutes.

      Remove the tea bag and discard. Allow the tea to cool for five minutes so it's not too hot for your skin.

      Wet two cotton balls with the chamomile tea. Squeeze out excess moisture. Hold the cotton balls over your eyebrows for two to four minutes to open the pores.

      Pluck hairs from the underside of the eyebrow.

      Tweeze one hair at a time. Pluck the hair out in the direction of growth. Wipe more chamomile tea over the eyebrow, as needed, to soothe the skin.

      Dampen a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Swipe the alcohol over your tweezed eyebrows. Pat your eyebrows dry with a wash cloth.

      Roll one ice cube inside each of two wash cloths. Hold the ice against your eyebrows for three to five minutes to soothe the skin and reduce puffiness and redness.

Tips & Warnings

  • Tweeze stray hairs immediately after getting out of the shower, while your pores are open and hair is soft.

  • Numb your skin with ice before tweezing.

  • Never pluck hairs by pulling them in the opposite direction of growth. This can result in in-grown hair.
