1
Apply a lotion that contains alpha-hydroxy acids to your skin each night. If you experience some skin sensitivity, use it every other evening or every two days before bed.
-
2
Exfoliate the face two to three times per week. A natural, homemade option is to add 1 tsp. brown sugar to your facial cleanser when washing the face. Dampen your face and hands and apply it to your face with gentle strokes. Wash it off with tepid water and a washcloth.

Put a pea-sized amount of tinted moisturizer on your skin. Ideally, the tinted moisturizer will contain a minimum SPF 15 for sun protection. Smooth it on using the pads of your fingers. This will keep the face hydrated and create an even complexion.

Apply skin brightening face treatments. Over-the-counter options include treatments that contain whitening agents such as kojic acid and hydroquinone. Each commercial treatment contains detailed instructions, side effects and risks. Usually you apply the product two to three times per week before bed.
