How to Turn Corners in Icy Conditions
Driving in inclement weather is one of the most trying tests of one's driving skills and isn't recommended at all for certain types of vehicles, such as motorcycles or vehicles with skinny, low tread tires. Drivers need to exercise caution when driving in snow and ice, due to low friction conditions that can lead to loss of control over their vehicles.

1
Slow down into the turn as much as possible. Ideally, you want to come to a stop before making a turn, which may not be possible depending on traffic conditions. Excessive or sudden speed causes skids.
-
2
Steer into the turn while accelerating smoothly and slowly. If your rear wheels spin and fishtail, do not turn the steering wheel, lightly tap the brakes until the wheels unlock and stop skidding.

-
3
Coast through the turn, taking care not to hold down the brake to avoid the wheels or brakes from locking, which leads to a loss of control of the car.
