How to Let Down a Guy Easily
Whether you've gone out on a couple of dates with a guy or you have been seeing him for a while, breaking up or letting him down can be difficult. However, you need to be honest with him and let him know exactly how you feel. Letting a guy down might be hard but you don't want to string him along, which can be worse than letting him down to begin with.

1
Put yourself in his situation before you let the guy down. Think about what you would want someone to say to you and remember that it's never easy being rejected. You want to be sympathetic toward him.
-
2
Talk to the guy in a public, casual place. Think of somewhere where you would go with your friends, like a coffee shop. Don't let him down on the phone and don't meet somewhere romantic.

3
Speak to the guy clearly and be specific about what your intentions are. Don't be blunt, as this can come off as rude, but ease into the conversation about your intentions. Tell the guy that while you appreciated the time the two of you spent together, you just want to be friends.
-
4
Wait for a response to make sure that he clearly gets what your intentions are. Sometimes you need to hear it from him to make sure he understands where you are coming from.
-
5
Take invites from him if you truly want to stay friends with him. However, make sure the invites involve other friends and are casual invites. If you feel the invite has a romantic undertone to it, like a fancy dinner, explain again that you two are just friends. You don't want to give him false hope or string him along.
