How to Troubleshoot a Whirlpool WTW6200SW0 Not Draining
If you have a Whirlpool WTW6200SW0 washing machine and it does not drain, there are some things you can do to look for as the cause. Possible causes are a faulty lid switch, a bad power connection, a failing or broken pump, a bad motor or even a bad control panel component. Rather than phone a repair technician you can save some money by identifying the problem yourself. You don't need extensive appliance knowledge to diagnose the root cause. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Attempt to restart the washer on a rinse cycle. If the Whirlpool WTW6200SW0 washer does not begin to drain and spin the agitator, try to set the switch to a different stage of a wash cycle. If the Whirlpool appliance does not respond, a faulty control panel, power cord or both may have tripped the circuit breaker.

2
Lift the lid on your Whirlpool WTW6200SW0 clothes washer. Locate the Lid switch on the rim where the lid rests when closed. Set your Whirlpool WTW6200SW0 to the end of the rinse cycle. Insert a screwdriver into the lid switch and start the washer, leaving the lid open. If the washer does not start, the lid switch is bad and needs replacing. Without a properly functioning lid switch, the Whirlpool WTW6200SW0 washer "thinks" the lid is open and will not engage the motor or pump.

3
Check the drain lines for kinks if the washer does start to spin the agitator. If the drain lines are kinked or twisted, the washer will drain partially or not at all.
-
4
Inspect the pump and the connected hoses on your Whirlpool WTW6200SW0. If the pump is cracked or is colored with smoke soot, the pump needs replacing. In addition, disconnect the hoses with pliers, loosening the hose clamps and look for obstructions in the hoses.
