How to Fix Textures in Hammer Editor

The Hammer Editor was created by Valve software as a map and level editor that gamers can use to edit and create maps for Valve games such as "Half-Life: 2," "Left 4 Dead" and "Counter-Strike: Source." The Hammer Editor is not completely user-friendly or intuitive. It takes some knowledge of the editor for use. If you are creating textures for your maps, you can use the "Camera View" brush selection feature and "Maptools" toolbar to fix or edit them.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Hammer Editor to begin fixing the textures.

    • 2

Click the red arrow on the "Maptools" toolbar.

    • 3

Click the "Browse" button within the "Texture" bar. Click the "Camera View" area to choose a brush face.

    • 4

Choose the texture you want the brush to have. You can type a texture type into the "Keyword" field such as "Concrete."

    • 5

Click "Apply Current Texture" to save your changes.
