Cut one 120-inch strand of hemp cord with scissors to create a bracelet measuring about 8 inches. Add 10 inches of cord for every 2 inches added to the bracelet. For example, if you are creating a 10-inch bracelet, cut the hemp cord to 130 inches. Measure the cord against a ruler to obtain the correct size.

Fold the cord in half to form a loop, and tie a knot 3/4 inch below the top of the loop. The result is two strands below the loop. The hemp strand on the left serves as the base strand for the bracelet, while the strand on the right serves as the working strand.

Pull the loop and the end of the base strand apart to straighten the cord and remove kinks. Then, wrap the working strand around the base strand once to form a loop. Insert the end of the working strand through the loop to form a loose tie.

Grasp the end of the working strand in one hand and the base strand with the other hand. Pull the working strand away from the base strand to tie a knot. Loop the working strand around the base strand a second time to form a loop. Then, insert the end of the strand through the loop and pull. The result is two sequential knots.

Continue making knots around the base cord to complete the macramé bracelet. Stop 2 inches before reaching the end of the working strand. Upon reaching the end, cut the base strand to length of the working strand with scissors. Thread the end of both strands through the bead, and tie both strands together into a knot.

Wrap the bracelet around the wrist, and insert the bead into the loop to secure the bracelet.
