Instructions

    • 1

Measure and cut a piece of leather that is 10 inches long and 2 inches wide with a craft knife.

    • 2

Lay the leather wrong side or unfinished side up on your workspace. Fold each short end of the leather over 1 inch. Apply an even layer of leather cement to the undersides of the folded-over ends and press the ends into the wrong side of the leather. Wait 10 minutes for it to dry.

    • 3

Trace the stencil design onto the leather with a leather rolling embossing wheel. Trace the entire design twice to ensure that you get a deep imprint for your picture. Position the main picture stencil at the center of the leather strip and surround it with smaller stencil patterns such as swirls or leaves.

    • 4

Run a black permanent marker around the indentations of the embossed picture to make it stand out on the leather bracelet.

    • 5

Undo the leather bracelet clasp. Position the clasp halves at the center of the ends. Draw in the holes to make guide dots for the rivets of the clasp with a pen and set the clasp aside.

    • 6

Place the tip of the leather punch tool on the dot you drew and hit it with a mallet to drive it through the leather and make a hole. Make holes on the other dots that you drew in the same manner.

    • 7

Put the clasp back onto the leather and align the clasp rivet holes with the holes in the leather. Insert the post of the rivet from the bottom of the bracelet and then place the rivet cap over it on the top. Position the dome of the rivet-setting tool over the rivet cap then strike it with a mallet to drive the rivet cap into the rivet. Repeat this process with the other rivets to finish making the bracelet.
