How to Troubleshoot a Bosch Millennium Series Dishwasher

Cleveland Van Cecil

Bosch Millenium Series dishwashers include the 9902, 9905 and 9906 models. Troubleshooting your Bosch when it is not working correctly is made easier by the built-in diagnostic function. Pressing on the diagnostic buttons gives you a readout of possible problems with the unit, leading you to the proper fix. To prevent any issues with your dishwasher, remember to regularly clean and care for it to prevent clogs that might prevent proper dishwasher functionality.

Bosch dishwashers have a diagnostic setting.

Step 1

Inspect the strainer basket at the bottom of the unit. Lift it up and clean it out to prevent flooding and leaks.

Step 2

Press down the "Power Scrub Plus" and "Regular Wash" buttons on the control panel of the machine. Hold them down.

Step 3

Press down the "On" button to turn on the machine. You should see lights flashing above the "Power Scrub Plus" and "Regular Wash" buttons. Release the buttons. Press the "On/Off" switch to stop the power test.

Step 4

Test the program indicator lights by pressing down the "Power Scrub Plus", "Scrub Wash", "Regular Wash" and "Rinse and Hold" individually. A light will come on above. When scrub wash is pressed down, the "Clean" light will also turn on.

Step 5

Press down the "Power Scrub Plus" and "Regular Wash" buttons at the same time. A new test will begin. If a fault is detected, one of the indicator lights will turn on. "Power Scrub Plus" means a heater fault, "Scrub Wash" means the dishwasher is under or over filling, and "Regular Wash" indicates there is a temperature sensor fault.

Step 6

Inspect all the pipes leading to the unit for signs of water dripping. Tighten connections with a wrench.
