How to Cover a Zit for Men
The occasional zit, while pesky, is no reason to panic. Many everyday factors lead to acne in men, including various prescription drugs, hormones and bacteria accumulation. Acne is common in men and women alike, and for both genders can be quickly and easily hidden with the use of concealer. While makeup will not eliminate the presence of the zit, it is a common way to cover it. Concealer has a slightly heavier texture compared to typical makeup foundation, making it more suitable for covering up the redness of conspicuous zits. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash your face thoroughly, and then hydrate your complexion with a moisturizing cream or oil. Rub the moisturizer into you face until it seeps fully into your skin. Since concealer has a significantly thicker texture than standard foundation, hydrate your face to avoid an overly heavy makeup appearance.
-
2
Dab a tiny amount of concealer directly over your zit. Then, using your index fingertip, softly pat on it until it mixes with your skin and develops a natural, soft and even look.

3
Apply concealer to the zit with a cosmetics brush using "painting" motions, if you are experiencing a large and elevated pimple. Use a brush that has a thin tip and flat bristles for added precision. Simply dab your brush into the product and cover over the zit carefully. Take the time not only to cover up the prominent part of the zit, but also the sides.

4
Allow the concealer to "set." If you want your concealer to stay put over your zit, put a small coating of loose powder over it and the area surrounding it. Use a powder puff for this process. Loose powder is a light, silky and sheer powder that is used to make the skin tone look more even and natural after foundation and concealer application.

Tips & Warnings
Although cosmetics products can be useful for covering up zits, leaving them on for an extended period of time without washing off can also lead to more acne. Wash your concealer off carefully at the end of the day.
If you want a medicated concealer that not only hides acne, but also helps it go away quicker, look for a product that contains salicylic acid. Tinted acne creams also do the trick. Many different concealer formats exist, including tubes and pots. Be sure to buy one that seems the most user-friendly to you.
Speak with your dermatologist and general physician before using any makeup products that contain acne-fighting agents such as salicylic acid. Some people experience irritation of the skin due to using the acid.
